Team Assault is Hogie's brain child. The idea is for the Runts to infiltrate the Thugs base and steel 3 keys needed to unlock the Runts radio and call in the reinforcements. If the Runts return all 3 keys to their radio, the Thugs all get killed by something like a plane , train, tank, etc. If the Thugs defend the keys successfully until time runs out, the Runts all get killed by the plane, train, tank, etc. Some maps have 6 keys (assault_forts2) in which case the object of the game is to defend your teams 3 keys while infiltrating the other teams base to return your 3 keys to your radio and call in the jet bomber on the other team. The weapons are given to you each time you respawn so dont look around much for weapons in these maps even though some can be found. The Thugs get the HMG, Grenade Launcher, Tommygun and Magnum while the Runts get the Shotgun, Rocket Launcher and Flamer. The HMG is a single shot high power rifle that takes 100 damage each shot. So if you get hit with no armor, your dead, one shot. The Flamer is turned way up. Its damage is 1.5 times more powerfull than normal. A single flamer with enough juice and skill can take out the entire opposite team. The Shotgun is more powerfull too. It reloads much quicker but the advantage that comes with the Shotty is its kick. You can shotgun teammates very far very fast with it which makes for more team work trying to get past those many sniper bunkers and open areas. The Magnum is given to every player every respawn. It is very powerful. Two hits with a Magnum and you'd better have armor on or else your dead. The Shotty, and Magnum both are enabled underwater at half damage. Team Doors allow access to areas to only one team or the other enhancing team cooperation.
